The Craft School Oz - Instagram is an incredible story of Ruth's work - if you need a little inspiration prior to attending the workshop.

You will receive a goodie bag with all materials to make a basked this includes - raffia, a notebook and needle to make a basket of your choice.  If you are totally inspired Ruth will have rafia and other material available for purchase for future projects.

Ruth currently lives in Australia running Craft School Oz and has drawn her inspiration from travelling and meeting women who have shared their knowledge. After visiting South East Asia, spending time on a floating village working with the water hyacinth plant, living in Arnhem Land in the very north of Australia with an Indigenous community she has bought together various styles and developed her own designs and methods and is now sharing her knowledge.

She works with plant fibers, recycled fabrics, wool and even paper. She encourages the participants of her workshops to experiment using many materials exploring shape and form. Basket making is an ancient craft throughout the world and Ruth has loved exploring this craft for several years. Although she doesn’t call herself an expert she loves to share what she has learnt and developed.

Skill level: Suitable for beginners or advanced crafters.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to this workshop, our haven of creativity does need to outline some fine print - please find The Farmer's Daughter Workshop T's & C's here
